HMPH! Well I just moved to NC and am renting a house that has lovely original GREEN and YELLOW vinyl flooring and NO garbage disposal or dishwasher, and no icemaker in the fridge. Other than that it is cute, lol.
Make sure you have the basics that you will need to use daily. Then you may want to have a few (one or two depending on space and need) appliance caddies where you can hide away the things you dont need all the time. I would like to have those as well as a bread box because I always want to have my bread near but I hate having it out in the open. I also want to have a dish rack for displaying my nice dishes and if you can make it look nice one of those racks to hang pots and pans on.
I just realized that none of those are unique at all and should be in every kitchen, lol. Check out hgtv.com for I want that! kitchens and baths and they can show you some cool new things.

If you are looking for decorating ideas, here is one for you; I have a very unique kitchen floor. It is made out of broken peices of blue willow china we got at flea markets. Then we had it set into the floor like a mosaic, used a blue tinted grout and sealed it with several layers of a special waterproof sealer. My walls are a very light yellow and the trim is white as well as my cupboards. I also have blue willow china plates hanging on my walls. The best part is that I have the only flooring like it! And if I need to have it fixed, they just fix the one little section, you don't have to have the whole floor ripped apart! Everyone who comes into my kitchen always comments on my flooring! I think that is the neatest feature of my kitchen! (By the way, we live in a turn of the century victorian home, so the Blue Willow ties right into the age of our home!)

The neatest things in my kitchen is the GE digital 2nd oven added to my 90 inch island, so wonderful for lots of holiday & extra baking going on. Also, this next item is 17 yrs old & I still wouldn't trade it for another-my GE range that is like a Jenn-Aire, but cheaper. It has 2 popouts with 2 eyes made together (4 stove eyes total, electric). I pop out one section and can do pancakes, grilled cheese, etc,it is a flat griddle w/ another pan below that collects grease if you were frying bacon. Another section is an indoor grill for indoor grilling of burger, steaks, fish, etc. Both are double width (2 eyes size). Then if I wanna do plain ole cooking with my stainless steel waterless cookware, I just pop the 2 sections of 4 stove eyes back in for a regular stove top. It has all the whistles & buttons & love that the huge oven is self cleaning.

All the cupboards are rollout shelves. Saves a ton of bending.
The faucet (spigot to you Pittsburghers) has a cartridge that allows the water to be purified as it comes out of the faucet. The faucet also has a built in sprayer that extends right from the faucet. If I want to fill my coffee maker, I just pull on the end of the faucet and it extends about 2 feet.
I splurged and got one of those boiling water faucets that are more common at work. Tea is real simple using those.

Number 1 is me. I am a professional chef.
Number 2 is my Viking range.
Number 3 is my Kitchenaide professional mixer.
And so on: Cuisinart Food Processor, Stainless steel 28 cu. ft. side by side fridge, ISE garbage disposal, my Furi knives, All Clad cookware, Waste King dishwasher, second refrigerator, separate freezer, bar sink, Oster blender, pressure cookers, Jenn Air built-in grill, pullout shelves in all the cabinets, pantry cabinet, ceramic tile floor, granite counters, window herb garden, air conditioning, pot filler over the stove, excellent lighting, I could go on and on. We renovated 2 years ago and I wanted everything in this kitchen. Skimp on nothing, you never regret buying the best. We did spend quite a bit, but I'm worth it.
PS: One thing I really like, we left off cabinets over the sink area. but instead hung those bars and hooks made by IKEA. My copperware and everyday kitchenware are right at hand, my wok, chinoise, strainers, paper towel holder, pot holders, kitchen towels, measuring cups, etc.

because of the fact a extensive majority of eating places bypass bankrupt, era. that is a problematical corporation, particularly in a sagging economic gadget. Gordon Ramsay's visual charm is sufficient to grant a eating place a improve, and a clean menu and decor truthfully could help, yet after that, that is as much as the eating place vendors and team to put in the artwork and keep issues working precise. in the event that they do no longer they could truthfully discover themselves interior an analogous hardship they have been in earlier.

I just installed a tin ceiling. I love the way it looks like a piece of art. Painted it gloss white. Nothing compares, not my floors, cabinets or appliances. It's the one thing I will never replace.
