This is an easy one to answer. Turn off the computer. OR sit right next to them and read a book. You don't actually have to watch what they are seeing, just your presents will straighten up their act. I do wish you luck, but in the mean time, you need to set the ratings on what can be viewed on your computer. You did not specify which browser you were using. Go to TOOLS and check out the options to set up with password protected the trusted sites and the restricted sites for your children. You can also do a search on parental computer control. Good luck and...keep up the great work with your kids.

You can get programs like net nanny which blocks them from looking at the sites.

But, what I would do, is have a frank and open conversation with your children about those sites.

My children are only allowed to use the internet while supervised by their father or myself. This way they cannot go to X rated sites without our knowing. Obviously, they don't even try.

Well, you just tell them what sites they are allowed. Limit it to just a few sites that youve examined/watched with them to make sure that you approve. Show them what to do with pop ups and dont allow them to use im/email etc.
Always be aware of time spent on the computer for them. Give them time limits and check on them regularly. Always. Prevention is the cure.

Supervise them while on the Internet, just like you do any other time. It's not convenient, but it is good parenting.

There is software out there, such as Net Nanny and several others, but if they're smart enough to use the Internet, they're smart enough to figure ways around it.

Good Luck!

The best way, as long as your children are not too tech savy, is to go to "preferences" on all the search engines that they use and click on "Filter out adult Web, video, and image search results" for Yahoo and "Use strict filtering" for Google. The search engine will confirm that you did it correctly when it says, "SafeSearch On." Your children will not be able to access any x-rated material as long as they do not change the preferences.

1) My anti-virus has a CONTENT FILTER. Open up your antivirus program and click around the settings.
2) You may need different antivirus.
3) Also, your Internet provider, who you pay each month for access, may have a content filter.
4) There are also software programs such as NetNanny that you could buy separate of antivirus.

depends if theyre computer saavy. you can enable you internet through tools, internet options, security tab, then click on restricted sites, then click the 'sites' button and if you know the web address of the site, you can type it in and itll disable those pages. but thats easy to navigate if you know about computers. if they dont, try that. if they do, then you might wanna invest in a program made specifically to disable pornographic websites. try NetDog .

look at some programs such as net nanny which blokcs these sites, there must be a million out there, and make the password so obscure that your children will never be able to figure it out.
