Daimler-Chrysler uses the input of a crank sensor to tell the computer the engine is cranking or running and the computer turns on the fuel pump and ASD relays. It also provides a 2-second prime at the initial turning of the key

Depends on which Engine you have. If it's a EFI engine (the 4cyl or the 6 cyl 4.0) then it's got a computer controlled fuel pump. if not, if it's a 4.2L or a 2.5L then it's likely got the mechanical fuel pump...

If your jeep was running and it's fuel injected, but now it won't start or it starts for 2 seconds then dies then likely your CPS wents bad (which is VERY common) Check that before replacing anything else. Good luck.

both the the xj and the pick up version of the xj have them
