A change in identity (illegal).
I'm betting that those two states have RECIPROCITY agreements, and the moment that Florida's records are put into the system, your license will be suspended there are well.

Absoluletly need to get the suspension from North Carolina lifted. If you drive in Florida while your license is suspended, you'll go to jail. Additionally if you lie and tell DHSMV here in Florida that you've never had a driver license any where else or that your license has never been suspended, you'd be commiting a felony, which is much worse than driving while your license was suspended. Also, in my county at least, if your license is suspended for DUI or the like, it will cost you $15,000 to bond out of jail.
Word to the wise... Take care of your business in NC.

You need to clear it up in North Carolina. First off, they will check your record when you get to Florida. You may as well take care of it now. It will cost you way more in Florida. Good luck.

Must be a resident of Florida for at least 30 days before taking a written rules of the road test, and then take a driving test and pass it.

You need to take care of the problem in N. Carolina. If you were suspended for a period of time, SORRY, you can't get your license anywhere. Fix the problem in N. Carolina then get your license in FLa.

We now have nationwide hookup among computers at MVD. Unless your case fell through the cracks, it will show up anywhere you apply for a license.

You need to get your suspension lifted, or it will be tough to get a licence anywhere in the US or Canada. What is the suspension for?
