I have been in the army for over 8 years. All surgeons that I know of HAVE been to school. I know you don't want to hear that. Now, with little to no college background, you will have to go in as a lower enlisted (i.e. private). As an enlisted, you can choose many different avenues in the medical field, assuming that your ASVAB and GT scores are high enough. (Those are tests you have to take before you choose your MOS or job). You might want to look into a surgical assistant. I'm not sure of the MOS number, but that would atleast get you the experience you are looking for, and then you can use your Montgomery GI Bill, or your Tuition Assistance to go to school to become a surgeon. I hate to tell you, but you won't be an actual SURGEON unless you have the schooling. Hope this helps.

If you go directly into the military without a formal college education, you can be a medic.
There are opportunites while in the military to take college classes in the meanwhile if you have a regular schedule, ie: working the day shift so you can take night classes or working the night shift and take day classes. If you have a schedule that doesnt permit that you make begin taking correspondance courses offered by some of the colleges and online.
You will however, need lab outside of regular academics. If you are successful and diligent and make good grades, you can discuss this with CQ administration to add years to your active duty while the military gets in on your education and goals. Good luck to you.

Medic, no question, And the army will pay for schooling, but you will have to serve with them for as many years as you go to school. Good luck. You might want to check into a government grant to p[ay for schooling before you enlist. The federal gov't will put you through school if you agree to serve in an underprivileged area for the number of years you went to med school. Again, it's a trade off, but 4-6 years of training, and the same in experience for the government is worth it, considering how long you Will be working (or paying off the bills for your schooling otherwise).

Choose wisely.
