Remember that, at times in our life, we all go through a certain degree of depression. Circumstances cause us to feel worthless at times. How long has this been going on, and do you know what caused it in the first place? If it has been going on for over 6 months you should seek medical help. If this rather new? If so, then you can do things to make your life more worthwhile. I assuming because you mention college that you are not doing well in your classes, and have money problems too. And then you mention friends, so does that mean you no longer hang with the friends you had or that their lives are so messed up that they no longer listen to your problems? EVERY person has a purpose in this Life, and every one, including YOU are SPECIAL in some unique way that only you can be. You must find the things in life that bring you joy. Whether it be music or art, or some activity, get involved in it again. Also, try to smile more and compliment others and they will respond better to you. Try giving of yourself in some way to help people that are less fortunate. And find the very root of the problem that is causing your depression. You are not alone honey, there is always a person just as lonely as you who would love to have you as a friend. Find her or him, be brave and seek out another loner who doesn't seem to fit in with the "normal" crowd.
Hang in there, if you look in the mirror and don't like what you see, that will be what other see when they look at you. If you smile and find peace with yourself, others will begin to notice and treat you much better. Be nice to strangers, and you'll find they'll be nice back.
Good luck.

It depends. If you have clinical depression, you need to seek help, but be careful because a lot of times the drugs they give you really f you up after a couple of years. My sister was clinically depressed, and now is pretty much over it, and I can give you her solution. Developing her skills, talents, and passions. The reality is that humans, whether you believe that they were created by God or evolution, have an innate desire to set and achieve goals, accomplish things, and be proud of their work, and have a passion for that work. My sister tried so many things with pills, etc, and I am a very driven person who cant imagine being unhappy, so I told her, try being more busy, and try developing your skills. She was out of college before, not really doing anything, and now she is at a photography school where she is so incredibly busy, and developing her talents, that she really has become happy. I do know what its like because one time I was on birth control and it caused chemical depression, so I know that you cant just get up and get over it, but there are some things that you can do to actually improve the overall quality of your life. If you dont know what you want to do yet, just try something, it might open you up to something great. Also, you could have SADS syndrome which means you need more sunlight. If you are in a climate that is dark and cold most of the year, go tanning in a tanning booth once or twice a week. The vitamin D and UV rays actually help this type of depression very much.

u go to college? u have friends and family? Be thankful. You are alive without sickness, u don't have any handicap, u can work. Wake up and be grateful that u can make a difference. cheer up, listen to some great music, go hang out with your friends, and have some fun, and don't be so down.

Find one thing that makes you happy and do it! Concentrate on one thing at a time.

Get some exercise - I know it sounds corny, but exercise helps immensely. It took me 35 minutes to convince myself of that this morning - since I didn't want to get up and didn't want to do anything.

It gets better.

me too, all I do is sitting down and watch TV, I can't get any job and I can't volunteer because I left my country for bad reasons and now I'm on a student visa, with a student visa all you can do is go to school, you're not allowed to do anything else--how awful.
