He hurt his arm playing football at school yesterday, and was wondering if they were going to ask him to lift packages, since he would be working during the Christmas holiday after school, loading trucks. Thank you

Ask him to lift in the interview? Probably not. But they may ask him if there is any reason why he CAN'T lift, and if the arm injury is anything significant, he would have to tell them.

Yes they will. I work in a warehouse and talk with the UPS drivers all the time and from my couple of years of experience with all delivery services, mostly UPS, there is a LOT of packages to lift and move.

And they weigh quite a bit sometimes, such as 60 pounds and sometimes more.

Most people starting out at UPS will usually load trucks which is draining and requires the use of both hands and arms and no harm done to those hands/arms.

Yes. My brother inlaw has worked there for years. You must be able to life 50-75 pounds. It may vary from state to state but in that line of work it is all about lifting and moving packages.Maybe he could wash trucks instead.

They may not ask him to literally lift something, but will ask if he is able to lift a certain amount of weight when working. You're young and will probably heal, so good luck and think positively...

Yes, he has to be able to lift at least 100 lbs or more. Sometimes they deliver crates with stuff in it.
