anyways...beleive me he always has dry food & water on hand and I also feed both of my pups canned food as well...the smaller one(who eats grass) doesn't really eat the canned food unless I stay there and keep him focused on it. Why would a dog eat grass? Is this bad for him?

Your puppy has an upset stomach and it is their way of settling it. Like an alka-seltzer. Grass makes them vomit and that settles their stomach. they may need to be on another food if it is consistant. Check with your vet..

When dogs and cats have a little stomach discomfort, they usually eat grass. It's instinct. Cats most always vomit the grass up afterwards, and alot of dogs, but not all, do the same. Try a formulated dry dog food, move them to it slowly, and stick to it a couple of months. If they continue eating grass, get a professional opinion.

dogs eat grass when they have an upset stomach it makes them throw up nature has a way of taking care of its own. a dog that has to be forced or focused into eating something it is because he DOES NOT LIKE THE FOOD >>>GIVES HIM A BELLY ACHE..... a puppy will not starve itself do not force him to eat change the food it does not agree the longer this keeps up the worse it will be it does him no good to eat then throw up it he does not get any nutrients... just like people ...babies..... would you force your child to eat something that made him throw up ? don't think so don't do it to your dog puppies do fine with dry food it is better for them it helps strengthen their jaw help with the chewing need and causes them to drink more water which is good for them..... keeps shedding down.... wet dog food has no nutritional value and can cause the runs we already know it causes your one pup to vomit..... expensive is not always better... Purina puppy with lamb and rice is great... give a try and if he does not want to eat leave there he will WHEN HE IS HUNGRY good thing about only dry is that it will not attract bugs like a wet mix does and will keep for hours even days (saving money).... little tip vinegar and water mix for puppy messes

They do eat grass to make themselves sick if their not feeling well. You might consider changing the food that you are feeding him, especially if he doesn't like to eat it w/out you making him. Just remember not to make the change too fast. Do it gradually or it will just upset his stomach more.
