I think you are saying why do they continue to sin and fornicate and do every other thing that their God condemns. The same reason why they believe in the first place; they make the bible suit their needs, whether or not it makes sense or doesn't.

Well that question or belief is a contradiction in itself. Most Christians believe in a Trinity. To separate God and the Holy Spirit is non sense. Because the Trinity can not be separated. You get Father, Son, and Holy Spirit three in one for the low price of believing in God and Jesus Christ.

Why do Americans believe in equality of humanity, but not ask for that equality in our country?
Why do married couples believe in fidelity for eternity, but do not stay together.
Some, like Apollos in Acts, do not know better. Others are sin scarred and cannot feel the gentle zepher of the Spirit. Others are still awaiting their birth.
