we have a cat who had 2 kittens 6 years ago and we kept all three. i have noticed that one of the two "kittens" still tries to nurse from her mom even tho i am pretty sure she isnt getting anything but she still does it. can anybody come up with a reason?

Dorothy is right. It's a comfort thing. It basically means the same thing as when a cat kneads a pillow, or you! It's just means he's comfy and happy. It's a good sign.

It's just a comfort for the cat. I have a two year old cat who tries to nurse the dog and the dog lets him! He also eats with the dog, sleeps with the dog, eats pig ears with the dog and drinks water with the dog. Strange...but true!

Comfort, and Mom lets her do it. She is probably just more "needy" than the other two.

she might have been weaned too late in her life and she just got used to it.
