Yep, I agree. Condoms are not a 100% safe because they can break or fall off, even the wrappers say they're not a 100% safe from diseases and pregnancy. Also, it saves alot of emotional drama. People won't have to worry about who's the father of the baby and women won't feel like they were taken advanage of. Sex shouldnt be taken lightly, it's no joke. Playing with sex is like playing with matches. why play with fire?

Abstinence is only the "best" if one is well educated as to why he/she is choosing abstinence. (Unmarried) Minors under the age of 18 should always choose abstinence, but not just because sex is "bad"... our youth should abstain from sex for all the reasons you stated and then some!!! But I think it starts with having a better foundation/method of educating our young about sex, its risks, as well as abstinence AND safe-sex practices. Education is, and always has been, key!

Abstinence includes not talking about sex, so if you don't have the information and you get the urge (which is uncontrolable), You have sex without a condom and next you know, you have an STD or Are Pregnant!!! Condoms may not be 100%, but I rather protect myself somehow than being ignorant of it all.
I don't go have sex with any guy I see, I've been with my Boyfriend for 3 years and we have a loving relationship...We have lots of fun without the kids...Thank God For Condoms!!!

Because Sex is like a drug. We have all been exposed to it at an early age. Most people who try to abstain from it end up searching for other sick outlets. "Look at the Catholic Priest"
The best thing to do is to try to find that special person as soon as you can and then stick with that person and be loyal only to that person. (Hoping also that he has the same values).
Then after marriage you should both try to keep the relationship interesting and spontaneous so that you never look anywhere else.
That is the only safety that I can think of.

Abstinence from the point of view of not having child is good. Abstention on the second week after menstruation can prevent pregnancy.Overindulgence is sex is bad. But some sex is required. If you follow the rules of 'safe sex' there won't be problems.

I really hate it when people call abstinece "safe sex" because it isnt really sex at all, a 2 year old practices abstinence for heavans sake. Sex is the ultimate expression of love and passion toward your partner. I say the risks are worth it.

I don't know if "why play with fire" is your question, but they do it because they do take it lightly. To someone people sex is something fun and spontaneous. They don't think they'll get a STD or get pregant. that condoms and birth control are all they need.

The 100% safe way is to not have sex at all until you meet that special person you're going to spend the rest of your life with.

i agree sex is no joke. i look around and see babies having babies, these people don't know the first thing about parenting. but your question does not apply just to young people. so yes i agree abstinence is the only safe sex.

Abstinence is really not sex at all since there is no sex. I would have to say that masturbation is really the safest sex. Nothing wrong with getting yourself off.
