its okay to have an abortion if the mother is poor, if she has goals (the baby would be in the way), what about if the mother is financially set and everythings O.K., she's just too lazy to take care of a baby. is that still good enough reason? or do you agree all the reasons i listed are extremely selfish?

I'm pleased to say that there is an organization called Feminists for Life that believes that these are very valid reasons why women feel they cannot continue their pregnancy, but they also look at ways to help the mothers AND the babies.

One of their great initiatives has been to encourage colleges and universities to allow housing for expectant mothers who are students.

While it's difficult to raise children as a student, there are ways to do it. Just ask the many women at my university, Davenport University. Colleges like mine are designed for working adults and allow women the opportunity to raise children while continuing their education.

It does not have to be a choice between the mother and the child. Both can survive. While it is more difficult to raise a child under these circumstances it can be done.

I think that it's a good indication you should have one if you're thinking like that. Better to take care of it now then ending up on the 6 o'clock news because you were to lazy to get out of bed & feed it or it mysteriously ends up in a lake some place. Adoption is always an option too you know.

Rape, incest, extreme drug abuse, there are a multitude of legitimate reasons. A miscarriage is the baby's way of backing out of life at this particular time, an abortion is the mother's option of backing out at this time.
Would you move into a house before it was done being built?
Bottom line, if it's not right for you, don't have one.

My mother delivered children for fifty years and before she died she told me that on only one case did she think it was justifide she told me there was no chance of saving the baby and if they let the birth happen it would also kill the mother the mother insisted on the birth and they both died togather now thats not a selfish act like todays abortions I really hope this helps.

It is ok to have an abortion if the mother's life is endangered. I believe it is also ok if the mother will not take care of the child. I am very Pro Choice

Or maybe the mother was raped... or in places like China the population is literally exploding beyond the borders and seriously harming the economy... or maybe these choices are just made by lazy and incapable people, yeah.

Too many people in the world already, making it a worse place to live in by the minute. If we can eliminate some from experiencing misery before they have a chance to become self-conscious, what's the harm?

I think it's more selfish to screw up an innocent child or leave them to get lost in foster home for their entire child lives. Also more selfish to push your own personal beliefs on every woman on the globe--you're the selfish one--try minding your own frigging business for once

You're a silly child with no idea about pain, fear, and hard decisions. There aren't any good reasons to have an abortion, just hard, desperate, sorrowful ones. Live a little more life before you pass judgement.
