I never actually heard of it. I live in North Central Massachusetts and am interested in hunting turkey this yr. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to go out and get my class a (which is the license I want) so I am considering taking the bow out. Any opinions?

It can be done sucessfully but I would recomend the use of a blind. A turkey can bust you as you draw your bow unless you are concelled!

My husband has done this at a friends house in the California hills. He got a huge turkey and said it was a blast. You will have to check with your state to see if you need a license for this. Good luck!

He has gone boar and deer bow hunting as well.

It's a lot of fun, but requires a very accurate shot. They make/sell special turkey arrow/bolt tips. Head/neck shots with a bow on a moving target of this size will humble you quickly. I use a crossbow and still have a hard time. Good luck

I have tried on ground and in stand, although I am yet to get a shot off. I have been busted when drawing, twice. I don't have a blind, but I would reccomend one. I am getting one before spring, as I only hunt turkey when I can't hunt Whitetail.
