the family room is cookie crumb color with creme brulee moldings and the kitchen is metalic blue with a beige molding. there is no dividing wall or molding between the kitchen and family. the kitchen and the family room only share one wall.

PAINT IS MUCH LIKE FLOOR COVERINGS, IF YOU CAN SEE INTO A ROOM FROM ANOTHER YOU SHOULD PAINT IT THE SAME COLOR. IT WILL GIVE IT CONTINUITY AND MAKE IT LOOK MORE PROFESSIONAL. IF THERE IS ANY KIND OF BREAK IN THE WALLS BETWEEN ROOMS IT WOULDN'T BE BAD TO PAINT IT IN A COORDINATING COLOR BUT PERSONALLY, IF IT WERE IN MY HOME, I WOULD RATHER HAVE THE ROOMS THE SAME COLORS. THAT WILL GIVE YOU A VISUAL FLO FROM ONE ROOM TO ANOTHER. OTHERWISE IT WILL HAVE A CHOPPED UP APPEARANCE AND LOOK LIKE YOU RAN OUT OF ONE COLOR OF PAINT.

Well, I think it's pretty much up to you. I kind of like the look that the rooms are at least joined, if not treated as one room. I'd paint the wall that the family room and kitchen share one color, I'd paint the rest of the family room a darker tone and the rest of the kitchen a lighter tone. I still like white moldings. Just an opinion. Look in some decorating magazines or go to Benjamin-Moore and look at some of their literature and paint charts to get some ideas. Have fun and enjoy your home.

I think I would carry it into the kitchen at least on one wall. If you have a major wall that runs the length of the two rooms. You could do the other walls a diff. color but make them co-ordinate. Use some of the kitchen colors as accents in the family room and vice versa.

mine is similar however there is a type of bar breaking the two but they do share walls. i have4 different colors - same pallett but.... if you're standing looking forward - all one color (lightest) look left and that solid wall (also a small entryway and exterior door) darkest color, wall to the right medium tone all the way through the kitchen. while i do have a seperate wall over the sink and it's very small area - it's a purple type mauve shade that blends withe the earthy tones.

you dont have to continue on with the same color you can cordinate a different color , i have a big game room ,and i did the 2 long walls in a redish color and did the 2 short walls in a kakhi ,looks really great i have a fire place in the corner so i painted the middle the redish color and the sides the kakhi color .its just what you like , you can make it look great , good luck

I would definately continue the same color scheme throughout since they all flow together. You can use a variation of the tones , but cookie crumb and blue don't sound very pleasing to the eye. Make it "flowy" not distracting. GOOD LUCK!! I love fall porjects!!

If you like that color to be in the kitchen, continue it. If not, chose another color.

I think it would be better if you had 2 different colors showing you have 2 different rooms and you can personal es both rooms to your liking.
