Great question! My daughter just lost a tooth today and she told me that the tooth fairy will probably leave her $2 so that's probably what the TF will do. This is her 3rd tooth to fall out, the first two got a $1 each with a frangipani (flower) with it as well... most of her friends get this as well and when it gets to the larger tooth and/or the last few then they get $5...

PS - at 6 and a half, she's already hinted several times that she knows that there's no tooth fairy but mummys and daddys who leave the money on behalf of the TF

I do something similar as another person's reply. I obtain the new Dollar coins from the bank. I also sprinkle glitter on the pillow, around the sheets. After all, it's a tooth fairy and fairies have dust?, right!, lol.. Okay it might not work this year as mine is getting too old and basically has knowledge of what has occurred, but I had a great time while it lasted.

Go to a stamp machine, buy some stamps. You will get a bunch of $1 coins, these are great from the tooth fairy and get more of a reaction then a $5 bill.

I teach art to 5, 6 and 7 yr olds. It is funny, but 2 of them lost teeth last week and when I asked what the tooth fairy left I was astounded to hear them both say $5!!!!

That is a lot of money when they are gonna lose what 12 teeth -- or is it more?? Yikes!

I've always left a twoonie for a tooth. Once I forgot to put the money under the pillow so I wrote a tiny little letter from the toothfairy, and dipped my daughters barbie shoes in glitter and made little footprints on the wall and window sill saying how sorry she was that she had missed my child the night before and that she left an extra little something behind so I added a sucker to the money that time.

My kids got $5.00 for the first tooth...plus a letter from the tooth fairy....each tooth after they have gotten $2.00. When my Daughter lost her 2 front teeth, on the same day...she got a bonus $1.00, along with her $4.00...lol....
Alas, at 7 & 8...they are getting too old for the TF tale & are trying to make me believe that I am the TF...although I deny it....heehee....I am still enjoying it....just like playing the Easter Bunny at Easter leaving baskets of candy & toys on the porch Easter morning....it is just fun for us Parents to do...& bask in the joy on our childrens faces.....

I'm super paranoid about them sleeping with a really loose tooth so we told them if they pull their own tooth out the tooth fairy leaves a dollar, if someone else pulls it out or it falls out on its own then they get 50 cents. HTH
