Some Americans still go on about bailing out the Brits in WW2.A conflict they would probably not have entered were it not for the Japanese bombing of Pear Harbor
If the US military is so good why do they always drag other countries in to help them?

"We ask other countries to participate because there shouldn't be one country in charge of the world"
That has got to be the funniest and yet most hypocritical answer I have ever heard

Ah yes.Those 2 superpowers.
Panama
Current population estimated at 3,191,319
of which 1,025,898 are male aged 18-64.
Grenada
Current population 89,703
of which 30,106 are male aged 18-64
These against a nuclear superpower.
USA
Current population 298,444,215
of which 100,022,845 are male aged 15-64.
These figures may not be exact but I use them so that you can rationalise the number of military personnel each might possess

Student of history and can't think of one? Wow, you must be an idiot.
And why is it America was dragged into your wars? I don't seem to remember too many people complaining then. Damn even the French were grateful
And for your information. Panama, Grenada--are two off the top of my head.
Also, Vietnam was a political loss not a military one.
One million dead Vietnamese, to 58,000 Americans. Nice kill ratio. And if the world didn't condemn us of bombing Hanoi back to the stone age, it would've been a political victory as well. Read history before you post nonsense. Just because you may happen to hate America doesn't mean you have to be a moron as well.

When was the last time European countries didn't drag the US into a war?

Every country comes to us for help. What happens with natural disasters all over the globe? America sends troops to help. America sends supplies. America sends money.

Why are our soldiers still stuck in Germany and Italy? Japan?

We ask other countries to participate because there shouldn't be one country in charge of the world. That is one of the reasons the UN came into play right? But when the UN won't do it's job, somebody has to.

Now if anyone had a reason to go to Iraq, didn't France and Germany have some oil contracts with Iraq that weren't kosher?

My answer is NOT hypocritical. If the US was trying to be in charge of the world - we wouldn't 1. go to the UN for support for the war with Iraq 2.we wouldn't be going to the UN for aid with the problems with Iran. 3. we sure wouldn't ask for England's help. We could do it on our own. 4. we wouldn't provide all of the aid, money, troops for any other country - we'd save it for ourselves.

Actually in WW2 America was really the only power to take on the mighty Japanese Empire. And we soundly defeated them at the same time as we were bailing the Europeans out with the Germans! Not bad at all. America should never be afraid to go to war alone. We have the numbers, the technology, the experience, and the economic muscle to go it alone anytime and anywhere against any foe.
I know that's not the answer you wanted there Mr. Cut-and-Run.

what's wrong with asking other countries to help? Why should the US have to bear all the burden by itself? The iraq war was supported by the UN. Why should america be the only country there? if the majority of countries vote and agree to go to war, why should they get to sit back and watch us? This has been the same issue with somalia, desert storm, Afghanistan, basically all the modern wars. They talk about issues together and go to war together so they dont have a repeat of WWI and II.

That's a misleading question. We have fought along with our Allies in the wars of the Twentieth Century. However, if you look at the numbers of troops we have used and our number of casualties then anyone with any sense can see that overall the US has carried a heavier than most burden.
And lets face it, if the US had not entered WW2, the Brits would probably be speaking German right now.

Maybe the Civil War or the War of 1812, but that goes back to the early and mid 1800's.
