Do not accept the car from the dealer if it is not perfect. They marked the price up, so they should bear some responsibility.
Make sure they guarantee the sunroof from everything from leaking to complete failure. I had a car (I bought it used) in the 80's, with an aftermarket sunroof installed by the dealer. It lasted me trouble-free 6 years until it first began to leak, then, it locked up and it cost $250 to fix it. I had it fixed by an upholstery shop of all places.
Not a bad price for all the fun I had with that car. It lasted as long as the car did.
I hope your sunroof is this well American made and you have this kind of luck with it. Sunroofs are great! Good Luck. It may last a long time, too.

Most dealers will not install the sunroof but farm it out to a company who does them on a regular basis. It is because there are alot of tools and skill involved to do it correctly as well as different size templates that must be bolted on to the roof when setting the sunroof in place. I would check with them to make sure that is the case. I wouldn't want a dealer doing my sunroof if thewy only do a few per month but would rather have a company who specializes in roofs, and does many each and every day.

Based on personal experience I would not, the Civic my g/f has (given to her by her mom) had a broken sunroof, it slipped of track or something and we took it to a dealership because it was installed when the car was bought, but we didn't know until then that it was installed by another company, so the easier and cheaper Honda tool to fix the sunroof was not an option.

a broker CAN GET YOU ONE put in even nonetheless it rather is in simple terms not a production unit one and you pays two times as much as its nicely worth. sellers sub contract stuff double the cost and supply you a bill with a grin. No aftermarket sunroofs are nicely worth a crap. they are often plastic after some years the enterprise is going out of enterprise and there'll be no factors accessible. and a great style of production unit sunroofs leak. Aftermarket ones are low-priced crap and could not final. I even have tried searching for aftermarket sunroof factors and might enable you realize overlook it there is not any thank you to get a pitcher or the rest for one until eventually it became right into a production unit installation. So recover from it in case you prefer a sunroof wait until eventually you get your next motor vehicle and purchase it then.

i own and operate a repair shop,,and yes there are a few concerns,,first off the factory installed one had a drainage run off rail on both sides of them,,the dealer installed ones has a by pass run off system, this Can get stopped up,and cause the roof to leak if it isn't done right, and you wont even know is leaking until it drops the head liner down on you,,so id make sure they knew what they was doing before i let them do it,,i have had a lot of them in the shop for leak repair,,because they only warranty them for so long, and that's it,,think 6 months is the limit ,,some will tell you a lifetime warranty, but they always seem to get out of it some way,,id just be sure they knew exactly what they was doing,,in my 36 yrs of doing this i have seen a lot of them leak,,and the damage they can do is tremendous, all i can say is good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

Please just buy a car with a sunroof already factory installed and warranted. Cutting structure away makes leaks and rattles. Besides after the novelity wears off you will only open it twice a year.

yes there are concerns, but dealerships are always the best place to go to service an automobile, most expensive, but most reliable.

go to a place that does that kind of work for a living. it will be cheaper and better than what the dealer is going to do for you. any monkey can cut a hole and put a piece of glass in it. put it takes a skilled monkey to do it right.
