The Old Testament prophesied that Christ would come to establish a Kingdom. This meant that Christ was to them to be a physical king and be born as such. When He was not born a King in all the glory of a King and did not set Himself apart as a King but as a servant for everyone, the Jews could not accept this. The Kingdom that Christ established was a spiritual.
There is a Jewish New Testament and it is an excellent reference.

The Jewish people believe in the same God as Christians. There are three main forms of Judaism. The first two believe that God is still to send the messiah. Many Jews do believe in parts of the new testament. They believe in some of the things Jesus said, they just do not believe he is the Son of Man. The third type is what is known as reformed Jews. This type of Jew believes that Christ was God's son. They believe in the New Testament. They are only still classified as Jews because they still keep Jewish tradition( holidays and such).

Hi Jennifer
It's quite simple. Jesus was a Jew. HE believed only in the Old testement. After he died, the new testament was written. So this is long, very long after Judaism already existed with only the old testament.

Now you could ask why they did not accept this new testament as well. But that is basically the question of why they did not accept Jesus himself. He felt he was the messais. According to Jewish sources however, he did not behave like the Jewish messais, and did not bring the peace Jews are promised when the messias comes. So they rejected him.

The new testament, decribing Jesus' life and teaching is therefore of no value to them.

The OT is Judaism. They still follow the old laws of Moses. The Messiahic Jews believe in Jesus and that He is the Son of God. The Jews that reject Jesus are still in OT times and follow the laws behind them. When Jesus was on the Earth, He kept telling the people that the old laws do not apply anymore and that everything is made clean and whole now.

The New Testament is about Jesus, since they rejected Him, they are still waiting for the Messiah to come. Which in Revelations it talks about that every Jew will realize that Jesus is the Messiah/Son of God and that He came as the suffering lamb and that they did crucify the Son of God. I am looking for his second return!!!

Because the New Testament was written by Christians or about Jesus. Jews don't believe in Jesus.

It might be the churches of Jews were existed already before Jesus comes. The New Testament record a lot about what Jesus and Jesus's pupil did. Jesus taught and pointed out some wrong that existed in the churches and hence the Jews don't believe what Jesus said to them and that he is the begotten son of God. They don't have a testimony on it.

Jews do not believe Jesus is the Messiah of the old testament prophets.

I think it is because they do not believe that Jesus is the Messiah. They are still waiting for Him to come. Since the New Testament is all about Jesus, they ignore it. That's just my guess though.

Some "completed" or "messianic" Jews do believe in both Testaments ... for example, the "Rabbi from Burbank", or Messianic Rabbi Loren Jacobs of Congregation Shema Yisrael

Followers of Judaism only believe and follow the Old Testament commandments because they do not recognize Jesus Christ as their messiah. Judaism follows the old covenant and its laws while Christianity follows the new covenant and its laws. Judaism follows 613 commandmnets where as Christianity recognizes only 10.
