Ok so everytime I take over-the-counter meds, like for cold and flu symptoms, even though it says they're supposed to cause drowsiness, i always get the complete opposite reaction. anyone else ever experience this?

Its because they contain pseudoephedrine, which is a stimulant. Some people are more sensitive to it than others. It don't have that reaction, but some of my friends do.

Not unusual, especially if you are sensitive to other medications. Many of the OTC cold and flu preparations cause a euphoric feeling initially and some experience a sesation of elation coupled with a burst of energy and later feel the opposite (drowsiness, sleepiness).

Yes its quite normal, if you get to hyper or experiment tachycardia then lower the dosage for example instead of taking it every 6 hours take it every 8.

its a side effect no worry, good day.

cough medicine does not make you hyper. in fact, you probably think that it does from the side-effects, which are the reactions you just stated.
