When you exercise you build your muscles and muscles get larger, so yes your stomach would be slightly larger.

It may, depends on the type of ab work you are doing. If you have access to a personal trainer, have them watch you work out and suggest exercises to tighten the muscles, but keep them flat.

actually yes....at first.
depends on how you are doing your sittups... if you are doing crunches your muscles will grow and slightly push out, it is noticeable, just below the breast area and above your tummy.. and if you have some fat in front of it, your muscle is behind the fat and pushes outward...but only slightly.. at the same time you are building muscle, the muscle is breaking down the fat.

If you concentrate on pulling you tummy in while you are doing it, you will not build out and you will have nice abs. Pretend you are pulling your belly to your spine...
