My hubby and I want to go on vacation soon but I want to go to Brazil and he wants to go to Italy?? If you have been to either what is good about that place??

Brazil is full of criminals. Half of them are the police. Don't go out at night unless your husband has a fantasy to see you raped. Tourist spots are safer but why patronize a crap hole like that.
Italy has history and honor. Sit on the beaches of the Mediterranean and make sweet love under the moon in one of the most exciting countries in the world. It was founded and built by people who conquered the world.

Well, as you can see, there are several opinions already given. So, I'll avoid giving one for the time being.
Keep in mind the time of year that you want to travel. If you live in Brazil you will experience summer from December to February. Thus, if you're wanting to go someplace WARM during our typical winters in the USA, then you need to go to Brazil. If you want to travel during Italy's summer then it'll be similar to our summer in the USA (June - September).
Italy is also a much smaller country that Brazil. You could possibly travel all around Italy in 1 - 2 weeks. Well, at least you could see several of the "main" attractions (Venice, Rome, Cinque Terre, Tuscany region, Vatican City, etc). If you tried to drive all around Brazil you'd need a couple of months. But, you'd see a lot of diverstiy (Amazon jungle/river, Rio de Janerio, Iguazu Falls, Floripa, etc).
Airfare to Brazil could easily cost you $800 - 1,000 or more, depending upon your departure city, time of year, etc. If you fly to Italy from the USA you're probably looking at $400 - $600 depending upon the same type of factors. Of course, specials do exist!
Brazil is a bit more "third world" in some areas. In short, there are definite areas of poverty. Of course, Italy has the same. But, the overall standard of living in Italy will be higher than in any Latin American country (for the most part).
If you visit Italy you can also zip up to Switzerland or possibly even France or Austria. Or, you could just sit still in one place and relax.
You have lots of choices. Personally, I'd want to go to BOTH! So, I'd go to Brazil in December and then to Italy in June.

Brazil is not like any other place in South America. It has a tropical feel that moves to a very different beat. There is a freedom and sassiness about Brazil that you can hear in the samba. Brazil is sensual and dark. I hope you will visit Brazil when you can. Italy is always beautiful, but so is the land of the Amazon. :)
