The end of the Bible says: "The grace of Lord Jesus Christ be upon you all. Amen." Actually God's final vision is just as you describe ...that is, that the very same intimate love relationship that the Father and the Son Jesus Christ have to "be upon us all." Grace is a process of death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. As you allow the Helper the Holy Spirit to discipline you this process ... the more others will recognize that God is within you.

Friend, I'll start by clearing up the fact that nowhere in the Scriptures is there an imparative statement commanding Christians to BE as God. Nowhere. In Matthew 5:48, there is a command from the mouth of Jesus to be perfect as the heavenly Father is perfect.

There are 2 questions here, how does one be perfect as God the Father is perfect? The 2nd question is why should one be perfect as God the Father is perfect.

The answer to the first question is that nobody can be perfect. We have to rely on God's perfect grace to make us perfect. No matter what we do, and no matter how hard we try, we will never be perfect. The Bible says in Romans 3:23 that all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. We're all in the same boat. And there's nothing that we can do to save ourselves. Ephesians 2:8-9 says that it is by GRACE we have been saved through our faith in God. It is not by works, it is a gift of God so that no one can boast and say that they saved themselves.

The other question is a question of motives. WHY do you want to do good? If the answer is just to go to heaven then your motives are skewed. We don't do the things we do for rewards. We do the things that we do so that we can show God that we love Him, and that we want HIM to get the glory for all of the good things that we do. There's a song by the Christian artist, Chris Tomlin, called "Not to Us" and it talks about how we as Christians don't want to the glory, but they want God to get it instead.

I hope this helps. Remember, we do what we do for the glory of God and not the gratification of man. It's enough that God offers his forgiveness and grace. Anything else we get from Him is just extra blessing. We don't deserve anything, but He gives us everything.

If you are doing what you are told according to scripture why do you ask for acknowledgement of doing what is right? It says that those who seek prosperity and high seats and money here on earth with have the least in Heaven.

Be good as you can and do not boast about it.

Matthew 6:4

So that your deeds of charity may be in secret; and your Father Who sees in secret will reward you openly.

Just ask yourself... who do you want to impress more, people or God?

Why are you acting for the recognition of others? Act for pure love alone.

There is no spirit and no god. Again, this is just your over-active imagination.
