Well my hair has split ends. I cut them off, to the point where I had a haircut 2 inches above my shoulders. I get them cut off after every swim season, but they come back. How do I fix that?

there are many ways to prevent hair damage, these I recommend:
1. Use a Anti-Breakage Shampoo and Conditioner, I use Tresemme.
2. If you iron/curl your hair use a Heat Tamer spray to prevent further breakage. (Once again, I use Tresemme) : )
3. Never brush your hair with a brush when your hair is wet. Comb it with a wide-toothed comb.
4. If you blowdry your hair keep it at a cool setting.
5. Don't use rubberbands that are tight-tight.
6. Take a multi-vitaman for healthy strong hair.
This will help prevent hair damage but your not guarenteed to never get not one split end so do what your doing already and get your hair trimmed every swim season.

Hope this helps! : )

try glue, "just kidding".
nothing fixes split ends some hair products makes them less visible but the only way you are going to get rid of them is by cutting them, the longer you leave them the more your hair is going to be affected, splits ends keep going up so i suggest cuting your hair at least 2-3 inches until you have no more.

Instead of you cutting them off, go to a professional and have them cut them off. Go every 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the length of your hair. Get recommendations of shampoos and conditioners to use. Minimize the amount of styling products you use as well since many of them contain alcohol, which can dry out your hair. Try not to blow dry your hair that often either. If you do have to blow dry, don't blow dry all the way, just to get the wetness out of it, but leave it slightly damp.

How often is your swim season. Hair should be trimmed at least onece every eight weeks.Avoid using the curling iron and blow dryer. Work with your hair instead of fighting it.Use a good conditioner and leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing it out.

- chlorine is a killer, invest in a good deep conditioner (Redken All Soft is good) to use at minimum once per week

- Use only a wide tooth comb to brush out tangles, especially when hair is wet (brushing wet hair can cause it to snap, possibly causing the end to split)

- avoid heat styling products (hot rollers, hair drylers, curling irons) as much as possible, if you must use these things, use sparingly (aka let hair air dry 75% before blow drying)

- apply a heat styling product to seal hair shaft before using anything hot on hiar (John Frieda Frizz-Ease is awesome)

- get ends trimmed every 6 weeks even if they don't seem bad

Trimming your hair is a good thing to do every so many months to keep up with your splits. Do you also condition your hair regularly so as to keep your hair from being dry cause dry hair causes brittle hair. Also eat nutritionally, especially with the colourful vegetables which will add nutrient to your hair follicles to produce gorgeous/shiny hair.

I would try a different shampoo, one that revitalizes and a conditioner. Also if you blow-dry and straighten your hair, that could give you major split ends so maybe cut down on that.

You should get your hair trimmed every 4 to 6 weeks to prevent split ends...either that or use VO5 hot oil found in any drug store.

use Nexxus 400ml Aloe Rid Gentle Clarifying Shampoo. its not too cheap, but you can get it at walmart or any drugstore. it cleanses and moisturizes whichi think is prettty cool. use a good conditioner too. maybe the matching conditioner if you want. dont use too much or it can overdty your hair. Try the smaller bottle to see if you like it, and then buy the larger if you do like it. oh, and always condition! :)
