It's actually an excellent hobby; especially if you study it with a skeptical mind. I wholeheartedly recommend reading it after having a good look at http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/

Wierd is a matter of how you look at it. Bible Study as a hobby is only as wierd as your point of view. If a hobby is the practice of something that you enjoy, then why not Bible Study. Wierd only comes into play when you find it strange. Those who find the Study of the Bible enjoyable would never view it as weird.

No way.

2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth.

To do this we need to be studying the bible all the time.

Keep up the good work!!!!

I've been studying the bible for the past decade or so. I LOVE IT. You can never get enough. It is awesome.

Weird to whom? I think it's a great hobby, studying the Bible. What more rewarding one could there be.

Of course, there are those that call Christians weird, or call reading the Bible weird, but I'll take it.

No !!! not really... I found this kind of interesting, we need more people that knows the bible and other theological readings well. I actually think that if all of us would have an understanding of various theological and religions reading we'll understand better our neighbors and live in a more tolerant world...

If that's where your interests lie, then it's not weird at all ! In addition to learning a lot about the Bible, it can be a good way to make friends.

Studying the bible is important because it gives us direction in life.

Life, much like the bible is long, complex and you can learn something new every day.
