I really want to know why our politician's are totally ignoring how the majority of Americans feel about illegal immigrants. Our politician's have heard us say that we want something done about the illegal immigrants in this country but they REFUSE to adhere to the laws that are on the books. Does anyone have an answer and perhaps a solution because I am sick seeing the problems and having politician's that refuse to do something about it. I live in California and the statistics show that for every illegal head of household it costs the State of California $3,500. in services. Any solutions ... Did I hear someone say Boston Tea Party?

After reading some of your excellent responses I have to interject here:
el_scorcho6: The Boston Tea Party was about "taxation without representation". My comments were posed under that veil (i.e. the politician's are not representing what the majority of their constinguents want to do about illegal aliens, therefore NOT representing us).
zahbudar: You think illegal aliens are the only way we can get our crops picked? Silly, silly you. I (and I bet a lot more of us) would be willing to pay more for the fruit, etc. we eat if it would assure us that we would not have to deal with illegal aliens (B-T-W I never said Mexicans ... I said illegal aliens).
I love all the comments and I think an important discussion. We still need a solution .. any ideas?

Republicans are in office, Republicans own factories, republicans dont like unions, so they hire illegal aliens for nothing!

Dude, this has been happening for a long time. Remember that film "Gangs of New York"? When they have been pandering to Irish immigrants recent off the boat? That honestly occurred with now not simplest the Irish, however the Italians, the Jews, the Blacks, and such a lot not too long ago the Mexicans. And as for the present crop of applicants, simplest Mitt Romney helps deportation of illegals. Obama, Clinton and McCain wish to supply them amnesty. To reply your query, politicians wish their VOTES, so they are able to do not anything in workplace, take bribes, and sleep with their secretaries.

ok im american but my parents are both mexicans and very proud of it. ok look we are here to stay and work for americans and you think we dont pay taxes?? well how come the goverment give out tax payer card to illegal immigrants yet they are not allowed to legally work here and youre telling me that when illegal americans go to buy something they dont pay taxes either?? well last time i bought anything or my parents did there taxes they were charged state and federal taxes for some lazy americans who have thier children on welfare and etc.. Why are you blamin it on mexicans when you know good and well that americans also depend a whole lot on tax payers money. Oh and honey do you not remember that current americans where the first immigrants to the new world why didnt you all stay over there. You all came to this new world to make a good life and live better so isnt it ironic that you all did to the original settlers of america what Immigrants are trying to do? ~We are here and here to stay~ So deal with it.

You can see what they are trying to do, especially in the Senate with their earlier bill of granting amnesty and increasing the amounts of immigrants allowed in legally per year. They want to suck up to the Latino voters (current AND future) as they are the quickest growing ethnic group in the country. To hell with the rest of us. The problem they are having now is all those illegal and future voters can't vote NOW, and we the people CAN and don't want the illegals here, don't want amnesty, don't want guest worker programs, and want tight restrictions on the number of legal immigrants admitted - as it should be. That's the only reason they passed the fence vote - they're scared. Don't buy into it. As soon as the elections are over they will go right back to the way they were before. If they were pro illegal before, they will be again as soon as they are safely voted back into office. Vote against pro illegal, pro amnesty candidates next month!! WE have the power!!

Talking about that fence and building it are two different matters and Mexico is already lobbying congress to stop that fence. Mexico wants to run the U.S.A. in all but one area like helping out in Iraq no interest there on Mexico's part. On 9-11 Mexicans cheered when planes crashed into the towers. Mexico only wants what will benefit them they can only offer their fellow Mexican the advice of Go to America don't look to us for help. Mexican people never hold Mexico accountable they are caught up in that myth that America is suppose to take care of the welfare of every Mexican, while the government loots the country spends U.S. Aid for their own personal use and people of Mexico accept it. Refuse to do anything to better the country.

Democrats:

1. They don't want people to think they are heartless (despite item 3 below).

2. They are hoping for their votes (even if illegally) (despite item 3 below).

Republicans:

3. Cheap labor (and that's the saddest part since they drive down the amount legal people earn and they are worked longer than normally permitted and under conditions that can be unsafe).

Politicians in General:

4. Seats in the house of representatives are allocated based on total population in a state, NOT LEGAL POPULATION. So if your state has a lot of illegals, you get more Congressmen. (Item 3 above be damned).

Churches:

5. More money in the collection plate (despite item 3 above).

NO, A BOSTON TEA PARTY IS
NOT THE ANSWER.

If you wish to get rid of all the
illegal immigrant workers in the
USA, you must be willing to give up
all fresh fruits and vegetables in the
supermarkets across this nation.
All of that would go unpicked. Here
on the East Coast, whom do you
think the farmers hire to pick cotton,
harvest soy beans, corn, pumpkins,
potatoes, and so forth. You guessed
it. Illegal immigrants.

Now, do you, or do you not like eating
breakfast, lunch, and supper?

Please explain to me how the Boston Tea Party has anything to do with the current situation on illegal immigrants. I'm really at a loss here.

Did you want to dress up like Native Americans and dump all of the illegal immigrants into the ocean to protest the government's tax on importing illegal immigrants?

2006-10-02 13:38:49 · answer #8 · answered by el_scorcho6 3 · 2 0

No, the politicians are pandering to businesses who hire the illegals. They can pay almost nothing and make the profits bigger and bigger. Then they can contribute more cash to the politicians. Who help make it easier to hire illegal aliens. And so on and so and so on.
About politicians; It's like Robin Williams says in his new movie. Politicians are like dirty diapers. They need to changed often and for the same reason.

I like your " Boston Tea Party" Idea. We could call it " IMMIGRATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION" Take the $3,500.00 And multiply that by the "estimated" number of criminal trespassers in California. = ONE BIG NUMBER. Dont quit your day job, millions of illegals are counting on you.

HEY! heres an idea! organize a " Day without Taxpayers!" ALL American taxpayers stay off work for one day. What do you think the impact of that would be?

Basically Bush and his rich buddies want to force the rest of the working class to accept the same pay that illegals get, or else we just don't get to work. Eventually I think they want the same kind of class system that Mexico has where workers are treated like livestock. It's pretty obvious why Bush and Fox are so chummy with each other.
