When I was growing up we had a lovely dog called Bryan. Only now does it seem like a bit of a daft name for a dog.

Any more?

My dog's name is Luigi, which sounds daft but he's an unusual Italian breed and it suits him.
Today I heard of a German Shepherd called Kate. Giving animals mundane human names is sillier than calling them 'Peanuts' or something like that. A dog called Keith would take some beating.

I knew a guy called his dog Guiness and used to shout in the park here "Guin" for short.

I think he was of Irish extraction and frequented ale houses on a regular basis

I know some folks here in town have a wheaten named 'Diddle Dee' their toddler named him!

We have three wheaten terriers : Coco, Daisy and Brit-Brit

I also had a cousin name their dog G'n'R (pronounced Gunner) for the gorup "Guns 'n' Roses" - it was a German Shephard.
