There were no freedoms taken away. We GAVE them away and allowed certain restrictions to be placed on us in the hope that we would be safer.

To ensure safety, certain things need to be restricted. Our country is too free. For example, the hijackers on 9/11 were Arab/Arab looking. They were not blond hair, blue eyed people. Police, FBI, the govt get yelled at for profiling. We know who the enemy is, why are we looking at who the enemy is not? We need to open our eyes and stop complaining about our "freedoms" being taken away. Sure, some freedoms may be partially removed, but in the long run, it would save lives. We all have the luxury of not being in the towers. Those who died that day, they don't have freedom now, and i'm sure they would have given up some freedoms to prevent thier deaths, had they known what was going to happen.

The situation now is that any 'suspected terrorist' can be arrested without charge, imprisoned indefinitely without trial and shipped to a foreign land for torture.
A 'suspected terrorist' is anyone who does not agree with Mr. Bush, and could legally be translated as anyone who votes against his party!
Now, everybody is completely enslaved by a fascist government with no rights at all.
So the simple answer to your question is - every element of freedom that ever existed has now been removed.

Many freedoms have been chipped away at.
For example, I can no longer transfer money on-line from my small business bank account to my personal bank account. (Even though it's my own money.) I have to write myself a check and physically deposit it in the bank. This was done to prevent terrorists from transferring money from money laundering operations to operatives. But it's an enormous hassle for millions of honest business-persons.
I can't mail packages at a mailbox anymore. I have to take it to the Post Office and stand in the inevitable long line to mail say, a book, to my mother.
I can't buy enough fertilizer in one trip to Home Depot to do my lawn. I have to go several times or go to different stores to buy 4 50 pound bags of ammonium nitrate (fertilizer.)
...and a thousand other little loss of freedoms such as this.

None.
I can do anything I could do before 911, and being a pilot, I feel even safer now that my transponder has a hijaking code, and I can carry a gun onboard.
