yu wont be arrested unless you owe them alot of money, I'm assuming that they will follow up with a civil lawsuit to get their money from you but no arrest will be made unless you dont show up for court. Rent-A-Center is a rip anyway if you dont pay them back in like the first 90 days you get taken to the cleaners

Normally that would not be a warranting issue, but a credit issue. The creditting institute would put a credit judgement against you.
Unless you have shown them means of theft, then they can try to collect the merchandise. And normally unless it is an exorbant amount of money, they wont do anything. Look at people who lease 60-80k cars and cant make the payments, they dont get arrested, they just loose the car and there is a judgement placed against them and their credit

Depending on the state you live in. In Florida failure to return rented merchandise and pay back rent owed, is a third degree felony. Any third degree felony is punishable by up to 5 years in prison. Most times the court sentences 12 to 18 months probation, restitution, and court costs.

Rent-a-center is the biggest rip off in the country-they take advantage of people with poor credit by charging them absurd amounts of money for product that is in many cases used and in all cases over-valued. As far as the police, I wouldn't worry about it as long as you give them back their stuff.

the only way you could get arrested is if you are court ordered to pay and default... but even then, it's not because you didn't pay, it's a contempt of court charge, usually, they make you pay what you owe before they let you go, but it's really up to the judge

No.
In any state, they can not bring any criminal charges if you can't pay your bills. They can sue you in civil court or small claims court but not criminal.
However, if you didn't return their TV set, DVD or whatever, then that's a whole different matter.

They have to prove that you never intended to pay them back. Did you make ANY payments? Give them their stuff back.

It is not a crime if you can't pay your bills. That's what they get for trusting you to pay. Part of the risk. Next time they won't give you credit. ;)
