First thing robbery in boxing is as common as it is on America's streets. All the boxer can do is look like Fred and say "Son, we was robbed".

1988 Pernell Whitaker (this man got robbed so often he should've got police protection) is mugged by France judges who award a split decision to Jose Louis Ramirez, Sweat Peas first loss in his first shot at winning the title. All writers at ringside had a Whitaker UD victory.

HW Champ Larry Holmes gets a SD against a young Tim Witherspoon, TW won that fight flat out, and the belt, judges score cards Holmes 115-113, Tim 115-114 and the judge who got the fat check had Larry winning 118-111 lmao come on already thats insane.

Rematch between Hearns and Leonard is declared a Draw, WHAT???? Leonard gets dropped in the 3rd round and the 11th round (both rds dominated by Hitman so 10-8rds). Hearns dictates the fight with his jab judges cards 113-112 one for Sugar one for Hitman third judge 112-112 this judge didn't give Hearns 10-8 for either knockdown and gave Sugar the nod in rds he clearly lost.

Julio Cesar Chavez D 12 Pernell Whitaker (told ya) 7 out of 10 Mexican (yes Mexican) Newpaper columnists even said Pernell was robbed. Whitaker said he wanted to beat Chavez for what happened to his friend Meldric Taylor (famous Steele ending) and he did just that he embarrassed Chavez. Draw my caboose.

Oscar De La Hoya W 12 Pernell Whitaker (thirds a charm) first lets look at the score cards all for Oscar 115-111, 116-110 and 116-110. Now lets add some drama, De La Hoya was knocked down in the 9th rd (10-8 for Whitaker right?) but every score card gave Whitaker the 9th 10-9. Whitaker dominated and landed over 40% of his punches (Oscar's connnect was in the low 30s). Sweat Pea even threw more punches then Oscar and still two judges only gave him a score of 110. Now lets think if a fighter wins every round in a 12 rd fight his best score would be 120. A loser, not being knocked down or overly dominated would get 108. So how did Sweat Pea get 110 on two cards in a fight he clearly won 4 rds decisively (ninth rd even had the knockdown) at the least he should have received 112. The world may never know.

Addition: Yep I agree the Fenech v Azumah 1 was a bad call, its up on the list. But, Fenech got dismantled in the rematch it was painful to watch. Azumah was a great fighter though can't take that from him.

The only one I'd add to what's already been mentioned here was Nelson - Fenech I.

Louis - Godoy I seemed questionable, but I'm hesitant to say it was robbery without seeing more than the 2 minutes or so I saw. Louis - Walcott definitely seemed bad, and Leonard - Hearns II was especially bad to me as a Hearns fan.

btw, the Leonard - Hagler fight that inspired you to ask this.. I can't say I think that Hagler got robbed. I had it even and I know I was biased towards Hagler (who was my favorite fighter back then). So I never complained about the decision even though the fight didn't go my way.

One that immediately comes to mind was Wilfredo Gomez's 15 rd decision "win" over Rocky Lockridge to claim Lockridge's WBA Jr Lightweight title on May 19, 1985 in San Juan PR. Lockridge had battered Gomez over the first 12 rounds. Gomez came on a little bit in rds 13 and 14 but overall Lockridge was clearly the winner. But it was in Gomez's backyard (terrible job by the Duvas agreeing to the fight there) and thus he was declared the winner. Worst decision I've ever seen.

Another terrible decision was George Foreman W 12 Axel Schultz. Schultz postively dominated Big George that night but was denied the victory.

How about:

Mora Manfredo 2, or Brinkley Bonsonte, both fights happened in the same night. I have not seen a worse decision when Bonsonte was robbed.

Snipes W10 Coetzee
Briggs W12 Foreman ( the worst robbery I have ever seen)
Leonard D12 Hearns - Leonard admitted that Hearns beat him

Graciano Rocchigiani W12 Malinga
Vargas W12 Wright
De La Hoya W12 Sturm

In no specific order:
1) Whitaker/Ramirez
2) Ali/Norton III
3) Leonard/Hearns II
4) De La Hoya/Whitaker
5) Chavez/Whitaker
6) Zarate/Pintor
7) Hagler/Antoufermo I
You know Pernell got jobbed more times than I realized.

To Jimel7189 - I can see how many people thought that Lockridge got jobbed in that fight against Gomez in San Juan.
But Lockridge let Gomez get back into that fight and Lockridge in the post fight interview admitted that himself. Gomez got his 2nd and 3rd wind and out hustled him down the stretch.
