Ok I am really confused! I have brother and sister littermates. They are 1.5 years old. They were both fixed at 4 months old.

Occassionally, he displays very odd behavior. Like just now, he was straddling her, biting the back of her neck, and scratching her lower back with his back paw repeatedly, they stayed like that for at least 3 minutes until she finally swatted him away.

But what is going on? Neither of them can be in heat since they were both fixed. He has done this type of thing many times, but she doesn't usually let him latch on for so long.

What's up with my kitties?!

I have two boys- one is 1.5 and the other almost 4 (both neutered). The older one will do the same thing- especially if they've been roughhousing. He's saying - "OK- stop it now, and by the way, I'm the boss" to the younger one. It's partly dominance and partly play.

It's kind of cute..... for the first or second time. LOL

I had a boy cat and girl cat. They were both fixed by 6months. She never showed any odd behavior. For the 16 years he lived he never bothered her but he was always trying to hump my leg. This went on for 14 3/4 years. It's natural. They won't have no babies and if she gets mad enough she will put a complete stop to it.

It is called dominate behavior which is normal for a male cat. The female will take it but only for so long before she bats him away. He is just trying to establish who is the boss, it is a normal play behavior of cats.

Cats can be domnate animals. His mounting her is telling her that he is the king of the domaine! My male cat does this to my dog and other cats too. It's totally normal. It is noticed more often in the dog world, some people think their dogs are gay, but it is domination. Dogs, both males and females will mount other dogs and people to become the boss of the pack

Even though he is fixed he may still have that instinct. He also may be trying to establish dominance.

It is normal.. they are just playing.. they were probably neutered/spayed at an early age and do not know what sex is anyway..Not to worry... just play
