Help. I really want to put on muscle using creatine, but taking it with sugary drinks is giving me sugar highs and lows, and I can't think straight afterwards. What % is getting absorbed... 50%, 25% ? Maybe I can compensate by taking more of it with complex carbs instead of simple sugars.

You don't even need to take it with a sugar drink. What i do is mix it with water and drink it throughout my workout to give me maximum stamina to the end of my workout. Now creatine alone will not give you the muscle that you desire, which is a huge misconception with people today. You also need to consume a high protein diet to speed up the process of protein synthesis. So following your workout consume a WHEY PROTEIN shake with an additional scoop of creatine in the shake. If you get chocolate protein i highly recommend using ice, 1 banana, and a scoop of peanut butter to make it taste identical to a milkshake. Make sure you get a good nights sleep as well being that muscles primarily grow when sleeping/resting.

Try recipes with natural ingredients and no sugar added. For example, I recently made a date cake and it was sweet enough with just a tablespoon or two of honey. It can be completely guilt free and even healthy. Here's my recipe: 18 large dates 3/4 cup milk 1-2 tbsp honey 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup of flour OR 1/2 cup oats, 1/4 cup ground almonds, and 1/4 cup ground flaxseed (healthy alternative) 1 tsp baking soda 1/4 cup coconut oil Microwave the dates in the milk for 1-2 minutes. If using the healthy alternative, process the dry ingredients to get a smoother consistency. Add honey and vanilla to the dates and put in the food processor until a smooth paste forms. Mix the coconut oil into the date mixture. Add the dry mixture along with the baking soda. Bake for 30 minutes or until the sides pull away from the pan on a 350 degree oven.

The good creatine products have proper sugar added into them for absorption. You don't need to add extra sugar. I take NOX CG3 and found it doesn't have the bloating that other creatines do.

Try NO2 and Anavol. There's no sugar, and the results are great.
