I soon to be a a member of a gun range, but it would be convienient to shoot in woods. Of course I would shoot into a hill and have total knoledge of backstops and whatnot.

In PA regs you have to have a safety distance of 500 yds(???) from homes or roads, etc.

A few years ago I got my hand-gun permit in Tennessee. I was told that you aren't alowed to shoot over any roads. Also not in State/Federal Forest, Woods, or Parks. You could call your State Authorities, for more information. Each State is different.

you need to check a couple of things. first, check any city/county ordinances about discharging a firearm. since it is a state forest, or federal forest, then you'll want to check their regulatory guide. you can probably get a copy on the web, or at a local wildlife office. i would guess you have to be a certain distance from the roadway, say 100 ft or something.

You can't shoot across roads, and unless you own the land I don't think it's exactly legal either.

You "CAN" shoot across roads "IF" your on a high enough elevation (during hunting season). And I don't think you can just target practice in sate game lands. To me that would be stupid and someone would be bound to get hurt.
