Metric is no more "accurate" than F or K or any other system, despite what others have said....it is just a different scale.

By convention, metric is used in science all over the world, and for everyday stuff in every country except the USA

Most of the rest of the world uses the metric system so it makes it easier to write science papers if the people reading them don't have to do the conversions.

BTW much of science is now being done on the Kelvin scale as is it the most accurate.

Celsius is the metric system while Fahrenheit is the English system. The metric system is easier when calculating and doing conversions, since they all just differ by a ten's place.

Because the constants and such that were written were written in C. You could just as easily use Farenheit except that every constant in science is already written in Celsius or Kelvin (Which is directly related to Celcius) so in that respect i guess Celcius would win two to one.

Celsius is based on the metric system - divides temperature into 100 degrees from freezing (of water) to the boiling point (of water).

i imagine it really is a technology journalist with area to fill chatting with scientist with a e book to promote, interpreted by skill of someone who did not study the object very intently. Our links to aquatic life are set at 365 million years in the past, while our links with the apes are better on the order of 10 million years in the past - there is not any suggestion that we are "nearer" to pond life. i imagine it really is not any wonder that constructive homes that are distinctly spread contained in the animal kingdom - eyes, jointed limbs, etc - date again to a deep worry-loose ancestor, and no information that life began contained in the seas. there is extremely no "discovery" being presented right here - and no information - only a clean e book.
