Yes many people dislike dentists but they know what they're doing and whats healthy and whats not. Just let them do their thing and you'll be better.

If it had been awhile since you had a cleaning, you probably had a good amount of build-up. Now that it's gone, it makes sense that your teeth will be sensitive. Try using some Sensodyne toothpase. And if you are questioning what he says you need, you can always ask for your x-rays & go get a second opinion.

What's a dentist? I can't find one in Aberdeen, not on the NHS anyway. Seriously I have experienced this phenomenon myself, try using sensitive toothpaste for a while or tell dentist about your problem. Good luck!

i love goin to the dentist!
i was actually there earlier for a check up... went in he said nice teeth n i left no problem!
deffinatly prefer going to the dentist rather than to the doctor... the doctor always finds something wrong with you!
even if you go in with a slight cold u cn garantee ull come out with something a hundred times worse!

i'm conviced dentists sign this 'secret' code of honour before they are qualifyed, i always said theres one thing that i never wanted to damage and that was my teeth then *bang* smashed both my front teeth in :(
soon as i went to the dentists "yes you need 3 months treatment" - 4 years since i had my accident though, not seen any improvement...just come back in blah blah weeks.
(summary) its hard to find denist that are taking patents in some areas (and they know it) therefore you can't get a 2nd opinion unless you pay £thousands$ to see a cosmetic dentist :/

Perhaps you need to consider a different hygiene plan. Brush after every meal as well as floss. Cleanings shouldn't be that bad, unless you have poor oral health.
