It relies upon on your definition of morality. a lot of human beings imagine morality skill to uphold societal regulations for worry of punishment. Morality, as defined from a (only placed)psychological attitude, skill only to do the right component because it really is the right component to do. There are quite a few analyze that communicate about morality and the dissimilar ranges that are reached for the time of youth and adulthood. do not ignore that morality is like flipping a coin. If someone were demise and the only thanks to get the treatment for his or her disease became to scouse borrow it (assuming we've tried to purchase the drug, and characteristic exhausted all different techniques) would an ethical man or woman scouse borrow the drug, or no longer? some say certain because in case you enable someone die because you does no longer scouse borrow the drug, it continues to be incorrect because you probably did not do each little thing you may want to to maintain them. some say no because stealing the drug would deprive some different person with an same ailment who can arise with the money for the drug a probability to get better suited. No life is better important than yet another, yet which answer is the most morally suited? no you'll extremely answer that. properly, because you simplified it for us, as a Christian i attempt to keep this theory in recommendations. I do my perfect each probability i'm getting to do the right component, only because it really is the right component to do. yet because there are 2 aspects to each and each situation, what i imagine is moral will be considered immoral to some different person.

ok I belive everone has a right to view and opinion.. Myself I am a christian however I do have friends who are not. People say why belive in the bible, its just a bunch of people's things they are telling you. But some belive in the science end of things of evoution, Again somone telling you something and your beliveing it.. I mean they break it down into very seamingful facts. Who really knows.. I say this...
If the bible isnt right and i die today and life is just "over" "the end" then I have lost nothing by beleving in God.
BUT If I die today and I DONT belive but GOD is real , Well thats a situation I dont want to be in.
If believing in God helps to make a person a better human being, What the real issue?

Your question presents offense to my intellegence. I consider myself to be a very intellegent person. I apply reason to everything presented to me. I am also very sceptacle of any new information that I have not yet tested, and yet, I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. First of all, you have to assume that there is no God in order to completely write off the Bible. You may believe this, but I guarantee millions of people of intelligence far greater than yours have come to the conclusion that He does exist. The fact is that if there is no God, there are no definite morals in the world. There is no reason to "be good", there is no reason to strive for anything. Who cares? Live how you want, hurt who you want, and do whatever it takes to make your life as satisfying as it can be. After all, there is no reason to expect anything more than the brief years here on earth, and then we die and no one will remember us anyway.

That is really depressing! You stated that the Bible is absurd. What makes it absurd? Miracles? Prophecy? or just the belief that there is a Creator of everything we know to be reality?

The truth is that the Bible centers around the death and resurrection of Jesus. It is not commonly argued that Jesus was indeed crusified and killed, but did he come back to life? There are historical accounts of most of the 11 faithful apostles who witnessed the resurrection of Jesus Christ who died horrible deaths all because they would not say that it was a lie. If you were about to be killed in a very painful way if you did not admit a lie, would you die for it? They died for something that they knew to be true. Not only that, but they knew there was more to come, otherwise why not just say you were lying so you wouldn't die?

Science cannot prove that miracles cannot happen. Science cannot prove that there is no God. Even educational systems are acknowleging that the chances of "evoluiton" are scientifically determined impossible. Some schools are now teaching "Intellegent Design". Could it be that the complexities and fluid balance of this "world of chance" were designed by an intellegent being? I find that as the most convincing argument. I don't want to live life if I am just a worthless pile of matter, destined to die and be no more. I find it be more work to believe that there is no God than that there is. You would have to believe that our lives are totally meaningless.

I chose to believe in the Bible and in God not just because of my own personal experience, but because I used reason. The historical of account has been verified by every archioligist and historian as absolute truth. Name another "religious" book used by government agencies in historical research.

If you were about to get onto a plane, and they told you that there is a 1 in 10 chance that the plane would crash, would you get on? Now, if you had only to believe in a loving God, who would die just to be with you, for 80 years, or face the "slight chance" of an eternity of torment (if you can even begin to understand an eternity), would you? Oh yeah, I forgot, the Bible is absurd, and that's just the way it is.

In this short life, you will no doubt see some lows in your life. You will reach a point when, even out of sheer desperation, you will cry out to God. I can guarantee that you are more important to him than you can even know. He is waiting for you to seek him. I pray that he shows you soon how real he is!

God Bless You

I have found that they ignore anything in the Bible that sounds irrational. I know this guy at work that has not even read the whole Bible yet is a devout Christian and believes the whole thing, how can you believe in a thing when you have not even read it, makes no sense to me. If people actually took the whole thing seriously then no Christian would eat pork or shell fish, and it would be ok to eat bugs.

It should also be kept in mind that what is and is not an absurdity is to some extent a matter of opinion. You are entitled to disagree with the author that these are, in fact, absurdities.

We disregard common sense and reason? Really?

What about these folks? Could you say that they have no reason? No intellect? They checked their brains at the door?

John Harvard, the primary benefactor to the college that bears his name, was a Puritan preacher. He bequeathed his library to the college in Cambridge "To advance Learning and perpetuate it to Posterity; dreading to leave an illiterate Ministry to the Churches." He didn't want an uneducated clergy or laity. Hardly the example of "lack of reason."

C.S. Lewis, an Oxford professor, was an agnostic for most of his early life. Came to Christ as an adult, and was a rather prolific writer of apologetics. Even today, his books are considered classics.

Josh McDowell was another professor, who set out to debunk Christianity. After doing 700 hours of research, he concluded that the evidence demanded a verdict. He became a Christian, and then penned a book with the title, "Evidence that Demands a Verdict."

Simon Greenleaf was a lawyer, and a founder of the Harvard Law School. He set out to evaluate the biblical accounts hoping to refute their claims. After exhaustive research, he determined that the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ was overwhelming, and would stand scrutiny in a court of law.

None of these men could be considered as anything less than intelligent. And yet they claimed a rock solid faith in Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. Besides, God isn't looking for people with worldly intelligence, because He says, "For the message about the cross is nonsense to those who are being destroyed, but it is God's power to us who are being saved. For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the intelligence of the intelligent I will reject." Where is the wise person? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? God has turned the wisdom of the world into nonsense, hasn't he? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know God, God decided through the nonsense of our preaching to save those who believe." (I Corinthians 1:18-21)

I could go on to so many other intelligent people, either from antiquity or contemporary times. There are countless believers who are very intelligent, and also love their Lord. These are just a few examples to show you how incredibly biased your assumptions are.

the same way one can write questions with no regard to proper grammar. Can you be more specific about a particular instance in which you observed a Christian forgoing common sense concerning the Bible? Have you even read the Bible? Then you know it calls for us not to be fools.

We don't. We just operate on a different level than you. If you insist on looking on the surface only, you might come to your conclusion. But many famous atheists have converted to Christianity after trying to write a definitive book proving that the Bible is nonsense. You might want to do a little research before assuming your position is the only tenable one.
