They are all based on different Latin words - close in spelling, but different meanings

infer: from inferre, to bring, carry, bear
inferior: from inferus, lower
inferno: from infernus, hell

Infer stems from latin verb Inferre, meaning bring in.

Inferior has a meaning of bringing someone lower.
Inferno is the place down the Abyss.
