Also, when the grapes fall off the stem, will they still ripen? Are they good to eat if unripened?

Keep your grapes refrigerated, but no water is necessary. Make sure you wash them first though. The grapes you buy from the store are ready to eat (ripened). They won't ripen any more after they are picked from the main vine.

FYI A lot of people aviod eating green grapes when they turn a golden color, but this is when they are the sweetest!

I've NEVER heard of keeping them in water--I would think that would rot them! I keep mine without water in an open bowl or bag. The best way to tell if they aren't good is to look at the area where they were on the stem. If it's wrinkly or funny looking, or if the grape feels squishy, don't eat it. ALWAYS wash grapes before eating to remove so very nasty chemicals from the growing process.

Not in water. Grapes off the stem will wilt fast. Some grapes taste good less ripe.

I would go with the bowl with out water. That's how I do mine and they are good for a few days or more before they start to go bad.
Unripe grapes are fine to eat most will be sour but they are still fine to eat if you like sour things.

Never keep grapes in water for too long. It will absorb water and will soon taste like water. So if you like the taste of grapes, don't keep it in water

Neither. Toss out bad grapes. Don't wash. Place in plastic bag. Store no longer than one week in fridge. Wash before serving.

I've never heard of keeping them in water. I just wash them and put them in the refrigerator.

For a real treat, put washed grapes in the freezer. When you're thirsty, pick one or two and pop them in your mouth. Don't bite down if you have fillings! Just suck on them until they "defrost". It will quench your thirst and cool you down!
