It's like people get extra points for conversions etc. Does this get you better digs in heaven? Is there an awards ceremony where it is actually relevant to thank God?

Actually yes, they do work on comission - the financial kind. More church members mean more in the box for the church, which means more money pastor fred can take from it.
There's a church here in Detroit - Word of Faith. Bishop Butler has a jet for crissake.

You bet they do, but don't be fooled. The only place they make commission is here on earth, in the form of dollars. There are no bonus points in heaven. There is no heaven, there is no god, only you and all the rest of us and the universe.

For me, it's I want my friends and family with me in heaven. I don't need a ceremony to thank God. I thank him everydayfor my family, food, health , etc.

At least for Muslims, no there DEFINITELY is no commission on earth. As far as the afterlife goes, I don't know.
