What I mean?
do we as Chritians, " say do you wanna go to heaven or do you want to spend eternity with Christ?"
Or
What should I do to spend eternity with the Father?

Since heaven doesn't exist, I'll have to say "neither".

We will go to Heaven, meeting Christ first, and if we were righteous enough, we get to see God at his throne, but all who make it to Heaven eventually will spent eternity with God Jesus in Heaven.
I can tell you much about Heaven, but I don't have the proof most seek.
I say it's our first Goal for our destination, I believe, once we make to Heaven, we would find out, that there is more levels of Heaven.

Neither, Heaven is place we go to determined in our true belief, not the choices we make in life. So a goal... if you are catholic. A destiny... how?.. there are people who go to Hell, so to broad to be destiny. Sooooooooooooooooo, is heaven a 'reward',? yes, heaven a reward given to us by God through Jesus.

What should you do.....
I could give a long technical unoriginal answer like... pray for forgiveness or you are damned to Hell; Believe in Jesus; etc.....
Or...
I could tell you to discuss it with friends, family, church members... your pastor. This is a question unanswerable on a Yahoo Q/A window.
I am Baptist.
You will probably get Lutheran, Catholic, Calvanist, etc. answers.
It is between you and God. The best person to ask would be (in my opinion) a pastor.

Your Brother in Christ

PS: To cbooth 151: wrong, jeez, the only holy person is Jesus, you can't keep God's entire law, like it or not. Your quote is symbolically saying that the meek (believers) will reign (live on the earth forever) forever in heaven. Jesus was completly holy, yet He ascended into heaven (he didn't die though (excluding his crucifixion i mean))

I think it is our goal because it gets instilled upon us, as Christians, to go to heaven. We try to do the rights things in life and please the right people so that we can "reach" Heaven. If Heaven was our destination, then we wouldn't be so consumed with pleasing the right people because it would be a given that we would be going to Heaven anyway. A destination is a place to go, whereas, a goal is something that we strive toward acheiving.

Neither. If we remain loyal to God and keep all his laws and principles, we may be given the privilege to live forever here on the earth. Does not the Bible say that "the meek shall inherit the earth"?

No, Teilhard had it right. The goal for every living creature is divinity - The Omega Point. That's when we become Gods ourselves.

Your question reminds me of a quote:
"Happiness is not state to arrive at , but a means of travel"
I dont know the right words to answer your question , so i'll leave it @ that.
Peace!
