Could be getting air on stomach. Try burping before bottle and every 1/2 ounce. A baby can also suck in air while sucking on their pacifier. You will be surprised at how often an infant can burp. I was told at a hospital to try to burp my daughter before I even started feeding her and sure enough she let out a huge burp also they recommend trying every 1/2 ounce until it seems to get better then you can adjust to every 1 ounce and see how that works. The best thing to do is ask your doctor for advice because every baby is different. Also he could be needing more food. There are so many reasons babies cry because that is their only way of communicating with us. Good luck!

Babies don't cry for no reason at all. I can tell you that all babies are born with the ability to manipulate from the moment they are born into this world.

Example, Baby is put in the nursery at birth, all the other babies are quiet.

Your baby may have just been fed and will actually test the nurse by crying to see if they can get another bottle of milk because they know their crying will wake up all the other babies. If the nurse falls into the trap, they have been manipulated by the baby. The baby will cry always to get what they want after the first time they have out smarted the nurse.

Babies usually only will cry if the have colic, wet hungry or sick.

Usually parents when they have their first child, they make the mistake of running and picking up the baby every time the baby cries. Knowing that the baby has been fed, is not wet, or sick.

When this happens the baby will cry all the time for attention.

If you know for sure that your baby is not wet, in need of a bottle or sick, let the baby just cry without picking up or running to the baby. They will stop real quick because they know that crying for no reason at all they are not going to get your attention.

Parents really don't realize how intelligent a new born baby is or for that matter a 2 month old child.

(This applies, even if you are breast feeding your baby).

If you believe that your baby is sick then please take your baby to see their doctor.

Good luck.

Lay the baby on the bed, couch, whatever on his back. grab under his legs(quad area) and gently move his legs up towards his belly in a rolling type motion with a littel pressure. This will help him to fart out the gas. We did this with our son all the time, as he was quite gassy and it works well. Its funny too, cause almost everytime we would do it he would fart, and after about 5 or 6 times, all the farts were out and he was happy as can be. The trick was given by a Dr, for a friends baby who has hershspruns disorder(a condition of the bowel, cannot pass gas and stool) Gripe water and gas drops are good too.

There are many reasons for a baby to be crying a lot. Is your wife breast feeding? If so it could be that the quality of her milk is poor (not the quantity) and the baby is hungry. If your wife is not breast feeding and the baby is on formula he/she could have an intollerance to either that brand or to cows milk and needs to change to a goat or soya milk type. It also could be cholic (gas). In my experience these are the major reasons. I would suggest you visit a doctor or mothercare professional and seek advice/diagnosis. Please don't let the baby continue cry for too long as this can lead to other complications get it check out.

It may be colic. Colic is bascially when the baby has trouble passing gas. They get belly achey and cry. You can usually tell if it is a belly ache because they tend to tense up in the stomach and pull up their legs. A solution that I have found is called Gripewater. It is widely used in Europe, a natural liquid combination that parents swear by. It helps them pass gas. It tastes like licorice, and even older kids and adults can take it. Great stuff! It really is worth the try. Good luck to you guys.

Possibly colic, which will pass but is miserable till it does. They do sell gas drops & gripe water that will help. Bouncing and gentle rocking can help too. Also watch when it is happening for any patterns. Make sure you are using good bottles and aren't letting him eat to fast. The bottle needs to be tipped so the nipple is always completely full of milk to keep air out so watch the angle too. Avent bottles are excellent if you want to try a change.

My daughter cried and hardly slept at all for the first 10 months! It is very hard. She needs lots of support. My husband worked a lot and I had no family. The sound of the vacuum cleaner would sometimes hush her for a short nap during the day. Otherwise at night, we put an air cleaner in her room for white noise and during her first year, she slept in her swing. Is she spitting up or throwing up a lot? It could be reflux. Be sure to bring it up at her check-up!

It might just be his temperament, if it isn't his formula. I would take him to the pediatric doctor first, just to rule out milk sensitivity/allergies.

If that isn't it, and you have done everything you can, let him go for about 10 minutes at a time. Hopefully, it is just a phase, and he will quickly outgrow it.

Just remember, it is not a personal attack against you. Your son needs your patience now more than ever. Best of luck!

I've heard that sometimes a baby is just gonna cry for no real reason. You can't pick them up every time or they'll learn to cry when they want attention when they get older.

That's what I've heard, anyway...

Try different solutions sometimes. Food, burping, diaper check, maybe some Orajel if you think he's an early teether.
