Look at Vietnam. More of the enemy was killed than the USA troops. Yet we (USA ) lost the war. Look at Iraq. We say ( Some here say ) "We kill more of the enemy in Iraq than they kill of us". Again take a look at Vietnam. So when are we going to cut and run from Iraq?

First off, there are no winners in Iraq and none in Vietnam. Other sensible wars yes. like to rid the world of tyranny of Hitler, Napoleon and to say the least, communist russia which fueled alot of the conflicts of yet. But, realize that I was a marine corps sniper for 7 years and served my country honorably for that time and still do. I am a nurse corps officer and have been deployed twice now and will go again if need be. Trust me on this, I have been on the "lines", in garrison and in the field hospitals where I have seen much more than these so called "patriots" that do not support "MY" country and if they have so much hate and discontent for what they feel is right. then lets see what John Kerry would have done in retaliation after 9-11. I thoroughly believe he would have cried and crawled in a hole ( ironically like Saddam) be cause these free pieces of cr@p that I support to keep them free are so "liberal" tthat they have no clue what the lines the men and women of ALL of our Armed Forces go through because they have either been brought up to believe that our country is wrong to be helping or even protecting them is a sin or that they have never seen any "real" acion that they are now blind to the fact that either way you look at our country and our president, 75% of our troops are not fightbg because they were told to and objecting to that fact, they were and are there because hey made a commitment top fighting against tyranny, oppression and terrorism. So, Davids answer was correct and if you have a problem with the officers we as a whole elected, vote them out in the nxt election but whatever you do, choose wisely because this will not die down anytime soon. Iraq may but trust me, there are worse foes we have on the other end of the pacific we need to fear. This is just the beginning. We have 2 superpowers gearing up for us to withdraw from Iraq nd they are going to pounce on us harder than 9-11 and hopefully our next president will be able to handle that burden because God help our souls if he has no backbone and is cowardly. and "crawls into a hole". But, maybe then the " liberals" will uinderstand the full weight of prtecting our freedom, country, residents and our children who are our future. So, with that, If YOU DON'T AGREE WITH OUR GOV'T, POLICIES and PRESIDENT, THEN GET OUT. There are many countries that will hold there arms up and welcome you in..... Go be a talliban or N. Korean Army recruit they can control, torture and hopefully sacrifice for THEIR beliefs.

We didn't lose in Vietnam we withdrew because of liberal idiot tactics that raised so much of a preception of public protest that the government decided to get out. It was a political decision not a military one. And the same liberal people are now doing the same thing about Iraq. These people will do anything they can to hurt the US even so far as to undermine the war effort by spreading lies and propaganda and saying they are being patriotic by speaking against the president. But they only encourage the insurgents. Hell they almost daily tell them how vulnerable we are on the news. But if we get hit again here none of them will think twice about blaming Bush for not doing enough.

As a retired Nam era vet with a family tradition of military service going back to the Revolution, and a daughter on active duty, I take exception to the responders arguing that it is un-patriotic and disloyal for anyone to oppose Government policy. There was a saying back in the 60s, "My country right or wrong, if it's right, to keep it right, if it's wrong, to make it right." How is it disrespect full of our troops to say that Bush has bungled this thing from the start and should never have sent them in unless he had a clear objective and a willingness to ensure they had sufficient manpower, equipment, and supplies to get it done? How is it unpatriotic to say that it was idiocy to think we could fight a war, increase government spending, and cut taxes all at the same time? The establishment of a peace full, stable Iraq under complete U.S. control is not, and never was, an achievable goal. If that is what we're trying then this will be another Viet Nam, and will end the same way. We owe it to those who've died, and to those who still might, to hold our civilian leadership accountable for their mistakes, and to demand that those mistakes be corrected. If we don't, we don't deserve the sacrifices being made on our behalf.

Cut and Run..... terrible idea....... this is a war over ideas......

there is no way to change someones idea by killing them. We need to LEAVE IRAQ and stay in the area and allow Iraq to police their own country. GW Bush has always said "when the Iraqi stand up we will stand down" after 5 years it is time we allow them to stand up instead of keeping them down and controled.

we have stopped being liberators a while ago..... time for Bush to pay attention to America and let the mid east control themselves

Bush says the US won't leave Iraq on his watch even if his only supporter is Barney his dog. So it's up to that dog, really.

When you go over there maybe.

Aren't they looking for someone to be in the government there?

Cause since you know everything - maybe you should be in charge there.
