Hagler was the better fighter harder puncher and more determined. Another great fight maybe the best I have ever seen was leonard v Duran 1, that fight was so close and so even it was awesome incredible action!

The Hagler/Leonard was a setup. everyone's
money was on Hagler - so Hagler & Leonard
put all of thier money on Leonard to win it all,
they both retired rich - Hagler Let Leonard win.
they made a fortune, and quit - smart very smart.
Everyone thinks Hagler was robbed - But Hagler
and Leonard did the robbing ( Hagler was a lefty

i am assuming your question is which fighter was the best . a very difficult question, i have seen both fighters over the years beat world class opposition , Leonard versus hearns a very good fight , Leonard won. i saw Leonard fight hagler and Leonard won ,great fight , by virtue of superior stamina and speed . in his day hagler was very good, Leonard was just better prepared on the day

theres was only one Hagler Leonard fight!!
Hagler should have won, but the powers that be wanted Leonard to win, so he got the points for showboating.
The Hagler Hearns fight was better imo. very explosive

Which fighter was the best? I'd say Hagler. Although he lost to Leonard I'm assuming your taking their careers into context. If that is the basis then my pick is Hagler.

This is why Hagler lost that fight:
1. He agreed to a smaller ring
2. He agreed to a 12 rd fight.
3. He agreed to smaller gloves.
4. He let Ray steal rounds by only fighting the last minute and a half of the rd.
P.S. Even if he was robbed, robbery is as common in boxing as it is on the streets of America.

If you score the fight on points Leonard won. If you score the fight on who did more damage Hagler won.

Hagler was robbed in '85...Leonard got the vote because he was flashy...he was never the fighter that Hagler was.

Personally I thought Hagler was better. Ray had the better career though.
