A regular treasure hunt would be hard since some of the smaller ones can't read as well. I suggest a race for the treasure in teams.Divide the boys into 2 teams.Make sure to put older and younger on each team equally! The first boy could run to a chest and have to pick a skull out of it and run back to the 2nd boy. The second boy would have to hold onto the skull and run to the chest and get a parrot and run back to the 3rd boy.He repaeats and gets another item and gives it to the next until all boys have gone. The last boy in line doesn't run and get anything. Instead he has to give the items to each boy who picked them out of the chest and the first team finished is the winner. You can have grab bag gifts or something related to treasure like a bag of gold (choclate)coins for the winners.the game would require running, carrying all of the items each run and the last one remembering who had each item so all boys would have an equal choice no matter their age.Dunk for treasure and they get to keep the treasure they pick up with their mouths.Big tub filled with water and treasure items. Easy to make but harder to actually pick an item up! Use a pirate hat and do it like musical chairs but use rap or the music the boy likes. When the music stops whomever has the hat has to leave the game. Last boy left wins!Maybe he could keep the hat for the prize or you may have a gift certificate for a happy meal or ice cream cone.I hope I helped and have a great time! P.S. I just made those up as variations to other games so no one else would have them!!!

Have a scavenger hunt. Make a list of things like a rubber band, an egg, a Q-tip. Send them out in groups with an adult. Make sure you put things on the list people won't mind giving away. The group finding the most items wins. If it is a tie, the group that returned first with the most items wins.

Have a treasure hunt.. Leave clues that lead from one clue to the next... They have to find and solve each clue before they can find the treasure. Have a ____ hunt like at Easter.

On-Ya is kinda fun...Doesn't really take much...The kids just need to empty their pockets and work in teams. The point of the game is to see if you have a certain object 'on-ya' to get the points. For example, "Do you have a piece of gum on-ya?" or "Do you have a red sock on-ya?" The first person to bring up a piece of gum or a red sock wins the points. The 1st team to a certain # of points wins. It's fun to come up w/ weird and wacky things to ask for. But be sure to have your list ahead of time.
