The tight chest and coughing is driving me nuts. Any ideas on ways to handle it without puffers? I want to avoid them because i know it will only last until the weather changes. Thanks.

I once suffered from Chronic Bronchitis. I would suffer sometimes 3 to 4 times per year! Usually when there was a major change in the pressure outside (I live in the north, and the temperature spikes and dips do wonders to chronic sufferers of bronchitis!). Each time I would get horrible hacking coughs, hoarking up green phlegm..it was so frustrating!

The key to getting rid of your bronchitis is to find a way to completely eliminate the germs that are causing all the phlegm and irritation leading to your hoarking cough and heavy breathing. Keep reading to learn how to do kill these germs!!

Good old Vicks Vapo Rub rubbed on your chest and back helps a lot (you can even put a dab near your nostrils, if you are congested).

Take extra vitamin C, drink tea with honey and lemon, and you might want to try an over-the-counter med.

Be cautious, though, untreated bronchitis can turn to pneumonia in some cases.

Vivax has great suggestions (must be in the medical field like me). Try sitting in a steamy bathroom to loosen the mucous and then try deep breathing and coughing.

don't smoke, gargle with warm (not hot) salt water (don't swallow) and take NyQuil.
