It does rush to your feet! You just don't notice it because you're used to it. (How many times do you stand on your feet vs. standing on your head? :)

If you had a job where you stood on your feet all day long (like a nurse, or a retail clerk), you would definitely notice that blood does go to the feet!

EDITED TO ADD: Fred's answer is not correct. You do have veins in your feet, otherwise how would you explain the fact that you bleed if you cut your foot?! (Have to LOL at some of the answers some folks post on YA!)

Think about gravity. Why doesnt a ball fly? its the same parenthesis. Think about this If you throw water in the air. It doenst go up, it goes down. but our bodies have a control system. It pumps oxygen throughout our bodies to control the blood cycling to right positiions where they need them most. Such as muscles. Just like a man, when he gets happy
You know what happens. The blood goes to the place where it needs to go. If your head has no blood, then the blood will want to circulate to it. with oxygen. If your feete has no blood then the bloood goes there and ect.

Blood is continually pumped away from the head or feet by means of arteries, veins, or the heart. It will pool in the direction that gravity carries it, but it is the heart (the ultimate biological pump) that keeps things moving.

I hope this makes some form of sense to you.

your legs have special musculature that is designed to help pump the blood up and out of the legs

also, blood does go a little more to the legs when standing a long time in spite of the special helps the legs have, but we don't notice it as much because our legs are not sensitive to the pressure, but it can have long term negative effects on the blood vessels of the legs

it does go to your feet.

"getting up too fast" causes pressure thet makes your blood move to the lower half of your body and out of your head causing momentary dizziness

Er, I don't know! Maybe it does, but we just notice it more when it hits our brain instead of our toes.
