at a local social security office. he confiscated it and told me "someone" would be calling me to set up a meeting at my residence to address this. he also took a small pot pipe. he asked me to sign my name and provide my address and phone number on the black and white picture he took of it at the ss copy machine. that was nearly 2 weeks ago, and i have not been contacted by anyone yet. how long do they have to reach me? any thoughts on this?

I wouldn't worry so much about your pot. You should start worrying about identity theft & home invasion robbery. This guard violated Federal Guidelines by not calling the local authorities. HE became illegal when he took possession of an illegal substance. But you didn't know this & he probably just sold your stuff to someone for an extra $20 to put in his pocket & he could get an extra $50 for selling your signature, ss#, id, & other personal info! What was he doing in your pockets? They usually only ASK you if you have any cell phones & hold the ones with cameras at their desk until you leave. They are supposed to have a wand to wave over your body to find weapons. How high do you have to be to pull your stash out?, which I'm guessing is what you did! Get a credit check done ASAP. Sounds like you just got worked!

Years ago (and I'm not saying how many) I was at a concert at a stadium. I saw this kid walking down the aisle with a bag of pot half hanging out of his shirt pocket. Next thing I know an usher grabbed it out of his pocket and started making a huge scene so much so that some uniformed cops came up.

The old usher said that he took the bag out of his pocket and to arrest the kid. The cops started to question the kid who was scared to death. At the time a small amount was a big deal. Well I couldn't let this go on and had to step in. First thing I did was tell the kid to keep his mouth shut and not say a thing. Then I told the cops that I saw the whole thing and the old man did not take anything from the kid. As far as I was concerned the old man had possession and was the one that should be arrested. Well the cops were beside themselves. All they had was an excited old man with a bag in his hand, a scared but quiet kid and a calm impartial witness.

Bottom line the kid was kicked out of the statiom but not arrested. The pot was confiscated and the old man was told to keep his hands to himself and to get a cop next time. Me, I enjoyed the rest of the concert, I think it was The Who.

The moral don’t worry about it.

Social Security is what determines somebodies exsistance in the United States! Without Social Security, you would not even need a bank, because you would not be able to get an account! Social Security is one of the most important and precious things! It needs to be protected. If someone gets that number, then they can go off and do all kinds of thing. That is called identity theft. At the bank, all that can get taken is your money, but your identity can be taken from the Social Security office! Which is more imporatant! That is what there is a Security Guard at the Social Security Office! To protect your identity!

The dude just smoked your pot. The cops don't have enough time to care about going to some kids house for a small amount of pot.

Sounds like he cut you a huge break, why were you so stupid as to bring pot to a Social Security Office? You knew there would be Federal Security there.

Your fine. Thats like me seizing your marijuana handing it over to the police and saying it was yours. Its totally illegal search and seizure 100% so even if he did bring it to cops they wouldn't file charges because a police officer never witnessed posession. There is a similar case like this involving a neighborhood seizing cocaine from a resident.
