i cant open my mouth very wide without a painful dislocation occuring on one side and a grinding noise on the other. ive got a mouthguard but it doesnt help. what can i do..

if your symptoms are severe you may want to see an orofacial surgeon, surgery may be considerable, good luck

Do some research and find a dentist who treats bite related issues. If you were in my area, I'd have you come into our office. We are in Tampa. See someone who can fully evaluate the joints and discuss proper treatments. Call around, or search online.

Get a dentist that understands TMD to diagnose you condition IMMEDIATELY! Someone that just throws treatments at you is doing you a total disservice. Visit www.biojva.com to find a dentist that can determine whether or not your problem is serious or not.

the first you should not do is open your mouth wide. there are several exercise for that kind of problem. you should talk to oral surgeon and my guess is he will explain that kind of therapy. my best
