All you can do is put him in a cage or box and keep him safe from cats etc. Give him water and food. More than likely he won't make it but at least you will keep predators away from him.

I bet that by the time you read my answer, your bird will have recovered and flown away. The best thing to do is keep an eye on it, keep it protected from rain, and just let it recover on its own. We just had this happen a couple of days ago, and the little nuthatch was up and on its way in about 15 -20 minutes. And he looked like his neck was broken at first, but he was just stunned.

He will be OK he is just stunned right now.Put him in his cage. Then to be sure call the vet or an animal hospital
right away.Dont wait they will see him tonight and check
out his beak, head wings as well as his behavior. If they find anything wrong they will keep him for observation if they discover he is normal he will go home with you tonight. He may have some bruising around his head other than that I think he will be fine. But as a precaution get him in ASAP

You can either take it to the nearest veterinarian or call a wildlife agent who will know where to take the bird. The bird may either be completely in shock or it may be beyond all repair. Poor thing. Hope you get it resolved!

could be stunned or could have broken something, put it somewhere outside safe from cats and leave it alone for a little while, if it doesn't come around and fly off call a Vet and they should be able to tell you where a Wildlife Rehabilitater is
