I eat no sugar added things. they are sweetened with splenda and my grandchildren always want some.

Splenda the brand of sweetener is fine for children, so long as they show no previous allergies or reactions to other foods with sugar in it. Splenda is refined sugar anyway, so in actuality if they have consumed anything you've given them, that is made with it, then they have had sugar. I believe it's benefit in using it, is reduction in calories, not elimination of sugar in ones diet.

My daughter is 5 she lives on it. Her fave is walmart drink mix peach tea made with splenda. I was addicted to sugar 2 years ago and now my entire family loves splenda.

Just a couple of weeks ago the FDA and the AMA cleared any and all artificial sweeteners of being harmful to anyone.
