I made my favors (summer outside wedding...my flowers were sunflowers, so I made a ton of sunflower shaped fans that had the bridal party names and a thank you to everyone attending), center pieces (clay pots that I put the sunflower shaped fans in), my Save the Date magnets, invitations. It is much cheaper to make your own favors, magents, invitations than to buy them and I enjoyed everything a little bit more because I did them all myself.

We got married in May and we made our favors. We bought mini champhage glasses from IKEA and placed red and silver KISSES inside the glasses and tied red and white tulle to the stem with 3 kisses inside, we then placed a monogram envelope sticker on the glass with our new last name intial on it. Everyone one love it and it was very easy to make. We probably spent $1.50 on each, but it looked like it cost over $20. We also handed out personlized cigars. This route was a lot cheaper and more elegant.

For both my cousin's wedding we made the favors. It was alot cheaper to make them vs. buying them. You could make cd's with nice songs (buy the cds and covers from sam's or costco in bulk), the wedding bells or whatever other wedding shaped container and put candy in them. You could even order the personalized m&m's in your wedding colors and wrap them in tulle.
Hope this helps!

For favors, I made bookmarks with a thank-you-for-celebrating-with-us type message.
The centerpieces were small hurricane bowls with red glass beads and a votive candle in the center, and a mirror underneath...very reflective.
The invitations were a Wilton kit from Walmart, and I also made insert cards with maps.
I also made our programs. I saved hundreds of dollars.

I made one set of favours - mints wrapped in tulle with ribbon, and did the bows on another set of giveaways with a thank you slip. We didn't have anywhere to buy this kind of thing in bulk, so I had to make them. The wedding was for almos 200.

my wedding was about $500 (if that)...the reception was a gift- the cake was homemade, my hair, nails and makeup was a gift of sorts from a neighbor, the dress was a loner from my sister in law, the bouquet was made by my mom, the pictures were taken by friends and family, our only cost was the tuxes, then bow ties and cummerbunds for the ring bearers.
